New Coldean Library opened 28 June 2008
The new library is around twice the size of the old building, with improved facilities such as better disabled access, a public toilet, more computers for public use, and flexible space for meetings and activities. The new library also incorporates our city-wide specialist library services for residential and housebound borrowers, and has an improved children’s section. Services include:
- self-service facilities
- an improved children’s area and the introduction of a Young person’s area
- creation of a Sound and Vision area
- space for stock promotion to display new books and expand customers reading, together with a comfortable seating area.
- a small meeting room.
- Over 20 public access computers, available either for individual use, or as group training
- Novels
- Large Print
- DVDs
- Book Groups
Coldean Library’s opening hours are:
Monday 9am-1pm / 2pm-5pm
Thursday 9am-1pm / 2pm-7pm
Saturday 10am-1pm.
